
CONTINUING EDUCATION – Our Continuing Education Initiative provides informational presentations, seminars and summits designed to keep clinicians and other medical professionals up-to-date on various public and community health topics. These may include but are not limited to policy briefs and/or updates; statistical data on current epidemics; and diagnosis, treatment, and symptom management of various disease processes.
PROVIDER CAPACITY WORKGROUP – The Provider Capacity Workgroup includes clinicians from Barton Health, Marshall Medical Center, El Dorado Community Health Center, El Dorado Healthy and Human Services Agency and Shingle Springs Wellness Center. The workgroup meets monthly and provides clinical expertise and perspective to identify gaps in healthcare and support development of a system of care for vulnerable populations.

Medication-Assisted Treatment Resources
Barton Health offers treatment to members of the greater Lake Tahoe community experiencing addiction to opioids and other substances, including alcohol, nicotine, and benzodiazepines.
We offer prescribed medication, counseling, and psychiatric services in support of recovery. For patients suffering from opioid use disorder, or medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs may include familiar medications such as buprenorphine (Suboxone) and naltrexone.

STEPS - El Dorado Community Health Centers
This program has been designed to treat and support withdrawal and sobriety from opioids.
We offer treatment for opiate addiction with Buprenorphine/Naloxone.
Some people are on this medication for short periods of time while others remain on it for years or even lifelong to prevent relapse.
